Artist Statement

Through the quiet act of sewing, I explore memory, identity, and the passage of time. Each stitch is a meditation—an intimate gesture that connects the past with the present, the personal with the collective. My work draws from traditional Korean textile practices while embracing contemporary forms, bridging heritage and innovation.

I am drawn to fabric for its tactile honesty—how it carries history in its fibers, how it softens and holds. Whether hand-stitching, piecing together remnants, or working with natural dyes, I consider the process as essential as the finished form. Sewing, for me, is not only a method but a language—a way of telling stories that are too quiet or complex for words.

Through my practice, I aim to create spaces of reflection—delicate yet resilient—where viewers can find traces of their own experiences in the layers, folds, and threads.
